Everyday Autumn!

The past couple of weeks have been very ordinary – something for which I am very thankful! Excitement is fine, but the quiet times between are very good too! And with few flowers, Scottie sniffs the grass…

This autumn (or back end as it is known up here) has been pretty dry and until the very end of November, remarkably warm for the time of year. Then everything changed. We had a cold snap, with a dusting of snow…

The cows are Shorthorn/Highland crosses, and we pass them on the daily walk to the shore.

At this time of year the sun is very low in the sky, and that means on the days it shines, the light can be fantastic. This is the skeleton of a plant known as Cow Parsley…

… and this is yet another pic of the wreck on the shore.

Weather is usually changing constantly, which means we get a lot of rainbows, this one over Pan Hope…

Clouds and sun also mean interesting skies during the day…

I have woken up a couple of mornings to snow. This is looking west…

We have just had a few days of real wind and blizzard, so I wasn’t able to get out. But today we ventured forth on very icy tracks, and Scottie was still sniffing the grass.

But most of the time recently he has been asleep!
